Last week, I had planned on waking up early, loading up my bike and gear, and heading down to Milestone to go ride. Little did I know, that I'd end up hurting my knee and ending my chance to rip it up all day.
I did however make the best of it.
Waking up early, and cruising down to dell taco, I picked up a greasy, but yet delicious, bacon and egg quesadilla and a orange juice. Strung Out blasting from the speakers in my truck, I cruised down Market St. in route to my destination.
Once arriving there, there were girls handing out stickers and fliers. The red Smiley face sticker had my name on it.
Finding a spot close to the action wasn't the easiest task, but it got handled. I grabbed my camera and backpack and set off to the track.
I spotted the Transworld MX booth and looked for Donn, but he wasn't there. The next booth over however, had Donn sitting on a brand spankin' new '09 CRF250R.
Donn looked to be getting his suspension dialed in by RG3 before taking it out on the track, so I cruised over to the main track.
It seemed like everyone I saw was fat and/or slow. My mind started to trip like a three legged dog on a frozen lake wondering why everyone was so slow.
A couple minutes in, the checkered flag came out and all the riders left, only to be replaced by guys grabbing a handful of throttle and pinning it to win it.
Now that's what I'm talking about. It's always easier to photograph someone that knows what they're doing.
I stayed out there for quite some time and shot a few hundred pictures before I went back to my truck to grab some water.
I heard some loud music blasting from huge speakers, and I knew the band was about to perform. While walking over there, I felt my back right pocket for my wallet and it was gone...
Panic started to set it. I frantically started patting my pockets down, desperately searching for my wallet....
A slew of words came out of my mouth I definitely wouldn't be saying at Christmas dinner...
Not good.
I started walking fast back out to the track and re walked my path of angles I was shooting from earlier.
Heart racing, thinking I'm totally screwed, I see something small and black by a jump.
Yes! Found it. So stoked.
I then checked the time and had to hurry back to the freestyle kicker and landing. I wasn't going to miss this.
They guys were getting ready and I was able to get a good spot for shooting.
So basically, those guys who do freestyle are either bat shit insane, have huge balls of steel, or both. I mean, No brains, no headache, right?
Once those guys had finished, I was ready to bail out. All in all, it was a good day and I got some cool shots.
Enjoy and any feedback would be great.
Thanks
