Jeremy Lusk's fundraiser was held at the Oakley Factory in Southern California. It was also the place for the new "On the Pipe 5" movie premier. This building looked like something out of the Bat Man Movie. One of the coolest buildings I've ever seen in my life.

As I sit here typing this out, I can’t believe what took place tonight. Ever since I heard the tragic news of Jeremy Lusk passing away, I’ve been totally bummed out. I can remember like it was yesterday when I first met him at Brian Deegan’s house…

Jeremy was calm and collected, yet showed confidence and determination. Once he started riding, I was in awe at the skill and talent he possessed as he backflipped and did amazing tricks 30 feet in the air. I walked up to him and asked him if he could hit the hip jump and he calmly said, “for sure.” Before I knew it, Jeremy was laying it flat, completely horizontal.

Once he got bored of that particular jump, he and the guys rode out into the rolling hills behind Deegan’s house where a huge, 5th gear natural terrain table top jump was located. Once Colin hit it, and almost crashed, Jeremy took off and hit this massive jump. He soared through the air and whipped it out, landing perfect like it was just another day, jumping small stuff.

Remembering all of this made me so sad and bummed out that such an awesome, talented and gifted rider passed away. He would never do what he loved again and his family and friends would never get to watch him do what he did best.

So when I sat down in my seat in the theater, I knew there was going to be a speech given in Jeremy’s behalf. Eric Apple took the stage and told everyone in the Metal Mulisha to take the stage with him. Eric then told the whole story; start to finish, about what had happened the day Jeremy crashed, and the events that followed.

Half way through his speech, Eric started to choke up, as well as the massive amount of people that gathered to listen. I had tears in my eyes just imagining being there with all of Jeremy’s loved ones, seeing him laying in that hospital bed, lifeless. Eric gathered his strength and finished his story, telling everyone that Jeremy is survived by not only his family, but the Metal Mulisha and the motocross industry as a whole. He will never be forgotten and will be in everyone’s hearts forever.

Upon finishing his speech, everyone rose to their feet and gave a tremendous round of applause. Everyone felt the same way. Not terrible sorrow of hearing the tragic news, but hope and appreciation of how blessed everyone was to have had Jeremy in their lives.

As the movie started, there was a tribute to Jeremy Lusk and the theater exploded with cheering, whistling and applause. We were stoked to know Jeremy passed away on the top of his career and will always be remembered. Throughout the movie, everyone was cheering and clapping as the riders in the film (most were in the audience) were throwing down ridiculously crazy and insane tricks. Doing what Jeremy loved, riding a dirt bike.

After the movie ended, there was a tribute to Jeremy and everyone as a whole rose to their feet, cheering and clapping as loud as they could. Yes, he is gone, but he left a legacy behind and everyone will never forget him. I am so grateful to have met Jeremy Lusk that Day at Brain Deegan’s. You will never be forgotten. Good Speed Jeremy Lusk. RIP
